UCC’s Master Programmes

The MSc Food Security Policy & Management addresses the global challenge of widespread food insecurity and malnutrition: about 1/3 of the world’s population is malnourished, either overweight or underweight. Our current food system is unsustainable, both environmentally and from a health perspective. COVID-19 has further exposed some of the fragilities of the global food system.

There is a great need for skilled professionals with a holistic understanding and the multi-disciplinary skills to tackle these challenges and deliver sustainable and healthy food systems worldwide. This programme aims to build those skills, which are increasingly in demand by UN agencies, Governments, NGOs, research institutes and the private sector.

The programme has a strong applied focus and includes regular inputs from world-class agencies and institutes and from development practitioners working in Irish and other development agencies.

The MSc in International Public Policy and Diplomacy is an innovative, interdisciplinary, taught master’s course that provides graduates with the expertise required for successful careers in international policy environments. The MSc International Public Policy and Diplomacy is strongly orientated toward vocational skills training, through coursework and an opportunity to undertake a work placement.

The course will be of interest to you if you aspire to a career in, or are already working in, departments of foreign affairs and other government ministries, international political and financial organisations, the armed forces, aid agencies, non-governmental organisations, think-tanks, and international businesses.
