Description

The IMC conference promotes specific innovations in manufacturing technologies and is an excellent opportunity for networking between researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and employers as well as government and funding agencies. In organising a high profile and high impact programme of activities, the organising committee wishes to invite contributions from students, researchers and industrial practitioners for whom IMC35 will have particular relevance around the theme of "Engineering Skills and Talent for the Future".

IMC35 will showcase work undertaken in academia and industry by researchers in Manufacturing Engineering domains across all career stages. We especially welcome abstracts from early stage researchers and PhD students.

In 2018, we will be extending our conference offering by showcasing the best in project work completed by undergraduate students at third level academic institutions, through our project showcase & poster competition.
This recognises the role that IMC plays in the development and progression of students and researchers through academia to the manufacturing sector and will enable networking opportunities for students and potential employers.

The IMC35 technical committee would like to invite submissions as follows:

Manufacturing Technologies and Innovations
We invite three-page extended abstracts from all researchers in the manufacturing engineering domain.
We especially invite papers with the "Engineering Skills and Talent for the Future" theme.
Submissions can include (but are not limited to) papers on:

Engineering Education
The conference includes technical sessions for those interested in discussing and advancing research in engineering education.
We invite three-page extended abstracts from practitioners to discuss recent trends in engineering education and education research.
Submissions can include (but are not limited to) papers on:

  • Engineering Education and Professional Development
  • Engineering curricula
  • Design of Egineering learning environment


Undergraduate and Postgraduate Manufacturing Engineering Project Showcase
We invite the submission of posters based on manufacturing related projects (group or individual) completed by final year, postgraduate and research students at third level academic institutions. Posters will be on display throughout the conference and attendees will be given the opportunity to vote for the best submission.
Students will be given the opportunity to pitch their work to attendees and network with potential employers in the academic and industrial domains.

IMC35 is a unique opportunity to showcase what is best in manufacturing engineering innovation and engineering education and we hope that you will join us in realising that opportunity.
