Consumers, businesses, and everyday citizens are living in a hybrid world between the virtual and reality. This latest webinar in the Creating Tomorrow's World series will explore some of the advancements in this space and opportunities for the future.

Geoffrey Allen, Chief Executive Officer of Mersus Technologies.

Mersus Technologies uses computer gaming software to create 3D ‘virtual reality' training solutions for advanced manufacturing operations. Their ‘Avatar Academy’ is a virtual Learning Experience Platform (LXP) that recreates any work environment to allow trainees to practice in a risk-free environment where they learn what to do, in a fraction of time of traditional training.  Geoff has over 40 years in the technology industry.  His passion is helping businesses evolve through innovative technologies. Mersus work with their clients to realise value through the use of immersive technology. This approach is now proving to be of immense value in today's labour market where training and skill development are in higher demand than ever before.

Dr Niall Murray, Lecturer and Researcher at Athlone Institute of Technology as part of TUS, and is a funded investigator at the ADAPT Centre where his focus is on Quality of Experience of Augmented and Virtual Reality applications. He is founder (in 2014) and principal investigator (PI) in the truly Immersive and Interactive Multimedia Experiences (tIIMEx) research group in AIT. He is an associate PI on the Enterprise Ireland funded Technology Gateway COMAND. His current research interests include immersive (AR & VR), human-centric AI, multisensory multimedia communication and applications, multimedia signal processing, quality of experience, and wearable sensor systems.
