The Department of Children and Youth Affairs is organising a one day workshop on Implementation Fidelity.

About this Event

Implementation Fidelity of Evidence-based Programmes

This one day course is designed to support efforts to introduce, embed or scale-up evidence based interventions. It is made up of 3 parts, the content of which is summarised below.

Part 1: Explaining theory of ‘implementation science’

• Working definitions of: evidence-based interventions; implementation; fidelity; and implementation science

• Bridging the Science to Service Gap: Turning evidence into impact through effective interventions, effective implementation and enabling contexts

• Exploring role and purpose of implementation stages; implementation drivers; and implementation teams

Part 2: Exploring link between fidelity & outcomes

• Understanding and communicating internal and external fidelity

• Challenges of replication and scaling up

• Acknowledging and mitigating potential for poor outcomes or harm

• Creating usable innovations

Part 3: Identifying practical frameworks for bridging the ‘science to service’ gap

• Role and purpose of implementation teams; data and feedback loops; implementation infrastructure

• Sharing the learning: Incredible Years® NI Co-ordination Project Fidelity Framework – a theory into practice example of active implementation

• Understanding and identifying first/next step actions for participating agencies
