About this event
Inclusion Health is a growing approach addressing the extremely poor health outcomes experienced by those who are socially excluded, who experience multiple, overlapping adverse health determinants such as stigma and discrimination and, commonly, have difficulty in accessing appropriate health services. Inclusion Health involves collaboration between those with lived experience of social exclusion, health and community practitioners, and researchers to develop impactful initiatives to reduce marginalisation, promote social inclusion within health services provision, and thus reduce health inequities.
This event involves a number of local and national speakers. It will present a seminar on good practice in Inclusion Health research focused on engaged research with the Traveller community, along with a number of speakers from local statutory and community agencies who are working to improve social inclusion and health outcomes. It provides an opportunity for attendees to network, across sectors, with others interested in Inclusion Health, and to contribute to the establishment of an Inclusion Health Network in Cork.
