Practical Entrepreneurship — Learn to Work for Yourself (Januray 2016)
Practical Entrepreneurship is a FREE, 12 week part-time training course for people who want to become self-employed. Want to be your own boss. We'll train you and get you started.
It's open to anyone who is eligible to take part in a Springboard Course. If you have a new business idea, we'll help you to bring it to reality. If you don't, that's fine, we'll train you to create one.
Practical Entrepreneurship is delivered over 1.5 days per week and also includes a facilitated R & D development component that allows participants to test their business idea and prove there is a customer demand while receiving the support and feedback of the team.
The programme is alive with guest speakers from a host of relevant agencies as well as regular presentations from recent start-ups who are happy to tell their Start-Up Story to inspire, inform and help move you forward. Participants are welcomed from all educational backgrounds and all Industries and we have a very broad age range on the programme.
We have expertise on the Academy team to meet the R & D needs of participants from all business sectors. Previously self-employed people at all qualifications level who may require new skills and qualifications to return to self-employment or to enter employment are very suited to this programme as it offers the opportunity to update knowledge, skills and new approaches to managing a business.
Based in the Entrepreneurs Academy in Smithfield in Dublin's city centre, the learning environment is a collaborative and supportive space with a community of over 300 recent graduates actively engaging with us and networking with each other at our Alumni support events and through our closed social media groups.

Who should attend?
Anybody who wants to explore the possibility of self-employment.
Do I need a business idea to take part in the programme?
Nope: We'll help you understand what a great idea looks like and help you develop one!
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We are a 10 minute walk from O'Connell Street. The Smithfield stop on the Red Luas Line is right outside the building we are situated in.
The building has a pay and display car park, however caution is advised as there are cars often clamped if they haven't paid and displayed (even 5 minutes more than you paid). Don't park outside the door as it's a designated area not for pay and display but for parking discs only. You will be clamped if you do this.
