Event description

Description

INGSA-The International Network for Government Science Advice and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania together with Research Council of Lithuania are proud to hold a Regional INGSA workshop in Vilnius “Security Challenges in the Digital Era: the Role of Science Advice”

Science, technology and innovation are crucial for the achievement of national, regional and international development objectives. Policy-makers seeking to develop and implement evidence-based policies increasingly call on scientific advisors. With this in mind, INGSA is running a series of regional seminars designed to strengthen capacities for providing science advice to governments in the areas relevant to a particular region.

Cyber-attacks on energy and financial sectors, data protection issues, technological risks of dual use technologies, weaponization of big data, misuse of social media bots and other grey-zone tactics that can be employed in the contemporary media environment - these are the themes that will be covered in this seminar.
