Event description

Description

#IgnitingChange is a monthly talk series that brings together people from all walks of life to discuss the hot topics in society.

July's #IgnitingChange talk will focus on "Innovation in Volunteering Practices".

Have you ever wanted to get involved in community work but didn’t know where to start?

Have you ever wondered if volunteering could not only be fun but also empowering?

Then this event is what you're looking for!

Our panel of guest speakers will join us from various grassroots and volunteering organisations to enlighten us about innovative and empowering volunteering practices.

The talk will have a strong focus on how volunteering can help you turn your passion into a career and insights on how volunteering can also be an extremely powerful tool for youth.

Who are this month's speakers?

  • Lucky Khambule from MASI.

How does the event work?

Each speaker will give a 5 minute 'TEDtalk' to explain an aspect of this month's topic.

The speakers will engage in a 30 minute panel discussion to give an in-depth understanding of this topic, which will be followed up with audience questions.

The evening will end with a 'World Café' element where the speakers will join the audience to reflect on the meaning of the topic and discuss the issues that emerged throughout the talk.

This is a participatory event where anyone is welcome to join! So whether you know about this topic already or just want to learn about it for the first time, come join us on Thursday 27th at 6.30pm.

P.S. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to hear about our #IgnitingChange events as soon as they are announced!
