Event Details

This talk is complementary to specific courses which provide training on searching the scientific literature; it focuses on how to use these databases for your everyday needs. It includes a discussion of scientific literature concepts, source types and the value of impact factors. Strategies and tricks for creating search terms and using PubMed and Web of Knowledge to search forwards and backwards in the literature will be discussed. The utility of rss feeds to monitor new literature will also be introduced. This session is suitable for postgrad students who are enthusiastic about building their literature searching skills.
