Description

This course which is being organised by Monaghan Ecological Group, will introduce you to the basics of permaculture design. It will inspire and empower you to apply permaculture design to your life.

Note that a light lunch will be provided on Day 1. On Day 2, participants will either take a packed lunch or make arrangements with the Tutor and other participants to have a shared meal.
What will the Introduction to permaculture course cover?
This course will cover the history, various definitions, design process, ethics, principles, and other design tools. It will develop in you a very deep awareness of the earth and the importance of Nature. There will be a practical element and time spent outside in Nature also.
You will use this learning to co-create a design over the two-day course.
Who is the course for?
This course is for you living in a world of finite resources with infinite possibilities; you who wants to look at those challenges and create solutions.It is for you, if you wish to enrol yourself in the possibility of making a difference in your world now and for future generations.
It is open to anyone aged 16 or over. No prior knowledge of permaculture is needed.
Learning methods and outcomes
The course will be taught using a variety of methods; group work, games, presentations, discussion, video and slides. By the end of the course, you will have a basic knowledge of some of the permaculture ethics and principles and how to apply them.
What does the Introduction to permaculture course lead on to?
This course is an ideal starter for anyone interested in a full permaculture design course.
The course will be lead my Marella Fyffe who trained as a permaculuture teacher with Designed Visions in the UK . Marella also teaches organic gardening in community schools and colleges around Omagh and Northern Ireland . She is an ex lecturer from the Organic Center in Leitrim and also South West College in Omagh and Enniskillen she brings a wealth of creative experiential teaching to any group she works with.
The course is part funded by Monaghan County Council's Local Agenda 21 Environment Partnership Fund
