Organiser grainne taylor

Organiser of Introduction to Silver Clay workshop

Hi ! My name is Grainne Taylor and I live and work in my studio in Waterford. I have a lifetime of working with clay, and in the last years have started to discover the wonder of silver clay, a finely constituted combination of fine silver particles and binder. Silver clay is fabulously easy to manipulate and shape in its soft form, and fires to become fine silver, ready for displaying as jewellery or gifting. Its easy to learn to love silver clay, few classes and you'll be setting up your own studio!

I love all aspects of jewellery making, its so personal and a way to wear art. You can put your style into what you create for a look or gift which is artistic and all you. Its easy to acquire skills and once you have the basics, can create anything you want. Workshops for me are a way to get to  know like minded folk, or enjoy an experience with friends while learning new skills and enjoying a bit of banter.

I also run workshops in clay in my studio, especially for younger artists. I have many years of experience in education and love sharing skills as a way to empower young people to work confidently and independently. The focus in these workshops is on learning and fun, and to have a fired finshed unique piece of art made by the young artist !
