Investing in Volunteers information session
Overview
Are you investing in your volunteers?
How important are volunteers to your organisation? Are they having the best experience when volunteering with you? Is there anything more you could do to make things more effective when working with them? Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the national quality standard for involving volunteers (the industry standard), it outlines best practice that will improve the volunteers’ experience and ultimately the services your organisation provides.
You can use the framework to guide practice, or your organisation can go a step further and gain accreditation against the standard and achieve a prestigious award. Not only will this help you review what you currently do when involving volunteers, it can help you recruit more volunteers, provide effective support and show them you care while boosting the morale of everyone! The process of IiV accreditation is a supported journey where you will have the expertise of an assessor to guide and steer you through the 6 short steps at your own pace. This presentation will explain more about the practice contained within the IiV standard, the process to accreditation and the benefits.
A local Achiever said:- ‘I feel taking part in the Investing in Volunteers process was a rewarding experience for our staff and youth advocate volunteers. It provided us the space to really consider and reflect on our practice around volunteer management and to understand how we continue to improve the programme, whilst celebrating its success,” Jigsaw, the national centre for youth mental health
