Ireland has the third highest gambling losses per capita in the world. We have the highest online gambling losses per capita, yet the gambling industry is practically unregulated.

The impact of gambling on individuals, their familes and wider society is huge. On 14th September, leading spokespeople, authors and academics on gambling will come together in a bid to start a conversation in Ireland as to why we need regulation urgently. The discussions will include, the need for restrictions on advertising, for ringfenced funding of services and for an increase in the betting tax.

Speakers include; Oisin McConville,former GAA all star, Eoin McDevitt, Second Captains, Declan Lynch, Author and Journalist Independent News & Media, Barry Grant, CEO Problem Gambling Ireland, Senator Frances Black, Founder of RISE foundation, Tony O'Reilly, Problem Gambling Counsellor, DR Crystal Fulton, UCD, Assoc Prof Samantha Thomas, Melbourne, Paul Buck, CEO EPIC Gambling and Anne Rabbitte TD.
