Description

Love to write, draw or paint? Prepare to travel the world with your pen as your guide in this fun and expressive introductory printmaking workshop!

Did you know that the Irish were instrumental in the development of reading, writing and printmaking all around the world? From those who fought for access to education such as Jane Cowley (Mother Teresa), to the production of famous texts such as the Book of Kells, the American Declaration of Independence (printed by Irishman John Dunlap) and the 1916 Easter Proclamation, the Irish have pioneered various forms of communication across the globe. And now you can make your mark too!

Led by professional printmaker Daniel Lipstein, in this two-hour workshop you will learn how to make something wonderful, creating your very own unique and colourful prints to take home! Designed to tie in with our Irish Educators Abroad exhibition, you'll learn how to do simple monotype and dry-point printing, celebrating those teachers who explored the globe through printmaking.

Suitable for ages 8 years and over, 1x ticket is required for each participant wishing to take part. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the workshop. Each ticket includes all materials and instruments required.

Want to see EPIC Museum while you’re here? Kids go free with this ticket!
