Event description
Launch of the Irish in Aotearoa New Zealand Report of the Irish Community

About this event

Ambassador Peter Ryan and Mrs. Jane Quinn, President of the Auckland Irish Society, invite you to join them in the Auckland Irish Club from 6-8 pm on Friday, 28th May 2021 for a very special evening as we officially launch the "Irish in Aotearoa: Mapping the Irish Community and People of Irish Heritage in New Zealand" report.

With a foreword from President Michael D Higgins, the report was written by Professor Sonja Tiernan of the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Otago and is the first detailed study of the Irish Community in contemporary New Zealand. At the event, Professor Tiernan will present the findings of the report which will inform and facilitate the work of the Embassy and Honorary Consulate General over the coming years as we work to build ever closer links with the many Friends of Ireland in Aotearoa.

We are delighted to be joined by some wonderful dancers and musicians for what promises to be a most memorable evening.

Places are limited and we recommend early registration. Please ensure you please register the name of each individual person attending when ordering your tickets.
