IVACS One-day Symposium 2018, Maynooth University
Event Information
Description
IVACS (Inter-Varietal Applied Corpus Studies) was established in Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, in 2002, as an international research network that brings together researchers and postgraduate students working in corpus linguistics, through an annual one-day symposium and a biennial conference.
This year's one-day symposium will be hosted by Lárionad na Gaeilge: Taighde, Teagasc agus Tástáil / The Centre for Irish Language Research, Teaching and Testing, School of Celtic Studies, Maynooth University, and will focus on the theme of Corpus research in challenging contexts.
The aim of the symposium will be to discuss and share experiences and ideas regarding the many challenges associated with corpus research, including those involved in corpus compilation, annotation and analysis, as well as additional challenges that arise when working with lesser-used languages, learner language or other non-standard data.
