Description

Dublin is a better choice than Frankfurt or Paris for financial services companies moving operations from London because of Brexit, the lord mayor of London Andrew Parmley has said.

“If I were the person making the decision to leave the UK, I think I would be thinking of Dublin before anywhere else,” he told The Irish Times.

What is BREXIT?
Brexit is the popular term for the prospective withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU).

In a referendum on 23 June 2016, 51.9% of the participating UK electorate (64% of electorate) voted to leave the EU. On 29 March 2017, the British government invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on the European Union The UK is thus on course to leave the EU on 29 March 2019.

As Minister of State in Ireland he was responsible for procurement reform, public sector reform, the Office of Public Works and developing flood alleviation projects in Ireland.
