Description

Queen’s Gender Initiative (QGI) is delighted to invite you to attend a lunch with Josh Levs on Wednesday 24th October 2018 at 1pm – 2pm (venue will be confirmed on registration).

Josh will deliver a keynote on How an ‘All In’ approach can revolutionise workplace culture.

In his passionate address Josh will explain how businesses can’t empower women at work without also tackling the culture that make it tougher for men to be caregivers at home. Gender equality isn’t just about the ongoing fight for women’s rights; it is about the right thing to do. 21st Century employees want to be part of an inclusive and diverse workforce. Previously this would have been an aspiration but, as society learns and grows, it becomes an expectation.

To be an employer of choice companies and organisations need to fulfill the needs of their employees from multiple perspectives - including career aspirations; opportunities to continually learn and grow their skills; having flexible working patterns and feeling they work for an employer with a conscience. In short, it is about guaranteeing safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives for everyone. Josh will present his case for cultural changes that make all employees happier whilst delivering results.

Please note places are limited to two per organization.

Please indicate the names and titles of the people attending when you book tickets, and any dietary requirements they may have.

Many thanks and we look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event.

Background on Josh Levs

Author of ‘All In: How our work-first culture fails dads, families and businesses – and how we can fix it together’.

Josh Levs is an entrepreneur, former CNN and NPR journalist, and the leading global expert on issues facing modern fathers in the workplace. Levs spent 20 years reporting for NPR and CNN, where he developed unique expertise on nonpartisan fact checking.

Levs then stepped into a global spotlight by taking legal action against Time Warner (CNN’s parent company) for fair parental leave so he could care for his premature daughter and sick wife. The company ultimately embraced his call, revolutionising its policy to make it better for mums and dads. With the publication of his book he became the leading voice for modern dads at work, shining a light on their unknown struggles. Josh believes the key is to stop thinking of these things as "men helping women," and to make them about "all of us helping each other."

Levs has been published by the Harvard Business Review, Entrepreneur, The Atlantic, Time, Quartz, Fortune, The Week, and many other outlets, and interviewed on dozens of television and radio programs. He has lectured at Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and other universities.
