Kino Riviera Kabaret May 8-12, 2019

KinoRiviera is proud to present its first Kabaret.

This filmmaking event will take place in Albenga, a small seaside town in the North of Italy situated between Genoa and Nice, hosted by Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole. (https://www.facebook.com/arcimessicoenuvole/)

Albenga and surroundings offer a great variety of scenarios for filming, while the Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole (our "Lab") will be the base for our meetings, sharing projects, pre-production, rehearsing, editing and the final screening. Shooting will also be allowed on the premises.

The gates of Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole in Albenga will open on Wednesday 8th of May from 5pm for the registrations and welcome gathering. This location, a great facility with back garden located 10minutes walk to the sea and 20min to the Old town, is open only to possessors of a valid "Tessera Arci" (Arci card) which can be purchased at the entrance.

Kino is a non profit organization.

We have a limited number of spaces for the event, so we suggest you to secure your place by purchasing a ticket on this page. After completing the online registration you will receive an online form to confirm details.

We welcome people willing to produce or be part of the making of short films or documentaries. All levels of experience are welcome. Filmmaking involves many different and equally important roles. So whether you are or aspire to be an actor, a director, script-writer, a sound recordist, cinematographer, editor, make up artist, sound designer, composer or want to help as producer... this is the event for you.

Do you simply have an idea for, or a script sitting in the drawer? Register to our event, bring it with you and pitch it to the group. You may find the resources you need to have your idea filmed.

We will help facilitate projects and look for some equipment, props and help with locations (please contact us in advance if you need help).

Participants, however, will need to bring their own equipment.

Remember, Kino is a cooperative and non-competitive event where short films/documentaries are produced on zero/low budget, so be prepared to help other projects while people will also help you with yours.

We are the essence of guerrilla filmmaking so while we offer the greatest tool, human resources, along with locations, a great lab and some experience, we ask participants to bring any equipment they might have. From cameras (Dslr are a small, great cheap option) to microphones, audio recorders, laptops, props, make up, smartphones...or anything useful for the completion of the project.

On Wednesday the 8th after the registrations and welcome gathering, we will hold a welcome screening in the evening from 8pm, where each participant will have the chance to screen one of their previous shorts. All films/documentaries presented to the organisers will be checked and approved before screening. Offensive, provocative or discriminatory material will be refused.

On Thursday morning at 10am we well have the introduction meeting and pitching session. The pitching session is the best chance to share ideas and form crews, so participants are invited to take part in it. Writers/Directors are invited to present their idea to the group, giving a brief description of the project while looking for crew members for the production of the film. If you cannot attend the pitching session but still wanna participate or make your film, you are more than welcome. Just let us know and we will add your project on the board. We will try to facilitate all ideas even those that were not pitched. We always invite script writers/directors to bring copies of their scripts.

Kino Riviera is an international event, so both locals and people from anywhere will be welcome to participate. The official language for our meetings and communications will be english. Films can be shot and screened in any language, as far as provided with english subtitles.

Pre production and production can start as soon as crews are formed. There is no limit to the number of short films/documentaries each participant can produce/take part in. For the rest of the days, the lab will continue serving as meeting point and space for editing or shooting for all participants.

The final screening will take place on Saturday May 11 from 9pm at Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole, Albenga . All films/documentaries presented to the organisers will be checked and approved before screening. Offensive, provocative or discriminatory material will be refused.

Sunday morning will be the time for the last breakfast together to end the event.

We can offer free accommodation to 20 people on a first come first served base. These participants will be hosted in the lab or in a local apartment.

We also have an agreement for bungalows at lower rates with a local camping on the beach, just 10 minutes walk to the lab.

Questo evento di cinema si terrá ad Albenga, una cittadina del Nord Italia situata tra Genova e Nizza e sará ospitato dal Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole (https://www.facebook.com/arcimessicoenuvole)

Situata lungo la costa, Albenga e le sue zone limitrofe offre una grande varietá di scenari cinematografici, mentre il Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole (da noi detto "Lab") sará la base per i nostri meeting, per scambiare progetti, per la pre-produzione, le prove, il montaggio e la proiezione finale dei progetti realizzati. Sará anche possible girare film all'interno del Circolo.

Le porte del Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole di Albenga apriranno Mercoledí 8 Maggio a partire dalle 5pm con la registrazione dei partecipanti. L'accesso al circolo, ottima location grazie al suo ampio giardino e situato a 10 minuti a piedi dal mare e 20 minuti dalla cittá vecchia, é autorizzato solo a chi possiede una valida tessera ARCI (che puó essere acquistata all’ingresso).

Kino dá il benvenuto a chiunque voglia produrre e essere parte nella produzione di cortometraggi o documentari. Fare cinema include ruoli svariati e tutti di uguale importanza, perció se sei o aspiri ad essere un attore, regista, sceneggiatore, tecnico del suono, direttore della fotografia, responsabile del montaggio, truccatore, sound designer, compositore o vuoi aiutare come produttore...questo evento é per te.

Hai un'idea o una sceneggiatura per un corto chiusa nel cassetto? Oppure hai attrezzatura e ti piacerebbe realizzare un film con qualcuno? Registrati al nostro evento, porta quest'idea e/o la tua attrezzatura con te e presentala al gruppo. Potresti trovare le risorse che ti servono per trasformare la tua idea in un cortometraggio.

Gli organizzatori di Kino Riviera faciliteranno i progetti aiutando anche con la logistica (contattaci se ti serve il nostro aiuto).

I partecipanti, tuttavia, dovranno partecipare con la loro strumentazione (suono, camera, computer per montaggio ecc..)

Ricorda, Kino é un evento non competitivo che si basa sulla cooperazione e dove cortometraggi sono prodotti zero budget, perció sei invitato ad aiutare e contribuire ad altri progetti allo stesso modo in cui altre persone aiuteranno il tuo a prendere vita.

Kino rappresenta l'essenza del "guerrilla filmmaking", quindi nel mettere a disposizione ció che piú conta ovvero persone, organizzazione, locations e un fantastico lab dove creare quest'esperienza, chiediamo a voi partecipanti di portare con voi qualunque attrezzatura abbiate disponibile. Da telecamere/fotocamere a microfoni, registratori, computer portatili, materiali, trucco, smartphones...o qualunque cosa possa essere utile alla realizzazione di progetti.

Il 9 Maggio alle 10 del mattino sarà il momento di iniziare a lavorare assieme. La riunione serve per conoscerci, presentare idee, cercare aiuto in ció che si chiama "Pitching Session". La pitching session e' la chance per registi/sceneggiatori di esporre la propria idea al gruppo e cercare persone per la realizzazione del progetto. Se non hai un'idea tua, nessun problema, aggregati ad un progetto di tuo interesse.Tutti i partecipanti sono vivamente invitati a prendere parte alla riunione. Se non riuscirai ad attendere alla pitching session ma vorrai lo stesso partecipare e realizzare il tuo film, potrai ugualmente farlo, il tuo progetto verra' aggiunto da noi all'elenco creato l'8 Maggio e cercheremo in tutti i modi di facilitare la realizzazione del tuo film.

Se sei un regista/sceneggiatore ti invitiamo a fornire il numero di copie necessarie della tua sceneggiatura, da distribuire a chi collaborerá con te.

Kino Riviera é un evento internazionale, perció sia partecipanti Italiani che stranieri sono invitati. La lingua ufficiale dell'evento sará l'Inglese, cosí come tutte le comunicazioni principali. I cortometraggi possono essere girati e proiettati in qualunque lingua, ma sottotitoli in inglese sono richiesti.

La produzione dei cortometraggi potrá cominciare appena creati gruppi di lavoro con attori e crew. Non c'é limite al numero di cortometraggi che un partecipante puó produrre o a cui puó partecipare.

Per la durata dell'evento, il Circolo Arci (o "lab) servirá come spazio creativo per incontrarci e come luogo per montare o girare i cortometraggi.

La proiezione finale avverrá Sabato 11 Maggio al Circolo Arci Messico e Nuvole, Albenga dalle 9pm. Tutti i film/documentari devono essere presentati agli organizzatori e approvati prima della proiezione. Contenuti offensivi o discriminatori saranno rifiutati.

Domenica 12 mattina sará tempo per l'ultima colazione insieme e la fine di Kino Riviera.

Possiamo offrire ospitalitá di base a 15 persone sulla base di "chi arriva per primo". Questi partecipanti saranno ospitati tra il "lab" e un appartamento ad Albenga.

Abbiamo inoltre un accordo per bungalow ad un campeggio nelle vicinanze vicino alla spiaggia, a 10 minuti a piedi dal "lab".
