Event description

Description

Fishamble Sinfonia is delighted to present an evening of French instrumental music from the 17th and 18th centuries. Featuring a richly diverse programme of music ranging from traditional Baroque suites to sonatas to numbers from operas, this concert is one which will illuminate many of the salient stylistic developments and trends in 18th century French music.
Fishamble Sinfonia is made up of some of Ireland’s top emerging professional performers and will be led on this occasion by acclaimed violinist and conductor Daragh Morgan, who is well-known for his prowess as an interpreter of contemporary music. The ensemble is devoted to performing the music of neglected composers of the latter half of the eighteenth century with the goal of introducing audiences to the forgotten masters of this time through exhilarating and engaging performances, while developing a sound informed by historical practice.
The music will begin at 7.30PM and complementary wine will be provided.

Programme:
J.-F. Rebel - 'Les Éléments' Simphonie nouvelle
Jean-Baptiste Lully - Marche pour la cérêmonie des Turcs
Georg Muffat - Armonico Tributo Nos. 2 & 5
Jean-Phillipe Rameau - Tambourins and Galante
François Couperin - Concert Royal
