Description

The Lands of Éogain Group are delighted to bring the very popular Lands of Éogain Festival back to Clonmany for Heritage Week 2019. This year the 5th Inishowen Lecture will be given by one of the world's leading experts on St. Patrick - Professor Thomas Charles-Edwards.


The Lands of Éogain Festival weekend includes talks, walks and tours and celebrates Inishowen's rich archaeological, cultural and historical importance here and throughout Europe.

Dates: Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th August 2019

Venue: Market House, Clonmany, Inishowen, Co. Donegal

Cost: Day Ticket €20, Weekend Ticket €30, Friday evening event is free of charge

Accessibility: Open to all. Market House venue accessible to wheelchair users.

Description

The event will be launched on Friday by Former Ambassador James Sharkey. On Saturday, the 5th Inishowen Lecture will be given by Prof. Thomas Charles-Edwards, Oxford University on North West Ireland in Patrician Hagiography. This will be followed by a lecture by Dr. Brian Lacey on The Origins of the O’Dohertys of Inishowen. After lunch there will be a heritage walk. On Sunday Max Adams and Colm O’Brien of the Bernician Studies Group will give a talk which will be followed by a bus tour.

Heritage chat as we take a stroll down Binion Road, stopping at points of interest with contributions from a range of local experts. A return bus can be arranged.

On Inishowen and the Isle of Doagh’

Followed by a bus tour
