Lasers, drones & boats: measuring the impacts of climate change on heritage
Event Information
About this Event
Dr Kieran Craven of Geological Survey Ireland will talk about how the CHERISH Project is assessing the impacts of climate change to coastal heritage sites. Using a combination of techniques from the sea onto the land (and even space!), the CHERISH Project (http://www.cherishproject.eu/en/) is a 6-year European funded project started in 2017. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of the impacts of climate change to coastal sites. Working in counties Dublin, Wexford, Waterford and Kerry, it monitors and records coastlines, and assesses change to shipwrecks. In Dun Laoghaire, work was been conducted on Dalkey Island and within Dublin Bay.
The event will consist of a short talk followed by a questions and answers session. The talk will be hosted on Zoom webinar and you will receive an email with the Zoom log in details on the morning of the talk.
