Event description

Description

The National Design and Craft Gallery Hosts A Series Of Events As Part Of The European Year Of Cultural Heritage 2018.

In conjunction with our current exhibitions RUDOLF HELTZEL IN PRECIOUS METAL and BOUNDED + UNLIMITED CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY, we are delighted to be collaborating with two of Kilkenny's cultural venues, Rothe House and the Medieval Mile Museum for a late date talk: Treasured Adorments.

Join Marie Wilgaard Kelly of the DCCoI Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills & Design Course, Olivia Bergan curator at Rothe House and Grace Fegan curator/manager of Medieval Mile Museum, as they present and discuss treasured adornments from their cultural venues archives. This is a great opportunity to gain an insight into materials and techniques used, sourcing of collections, and the stories behind the individual pieces presented.

Admission is free but places are limited. Booking required.
