At the heart of every community in Donegal, social enterprises are delivering services and supports to the most disadvantaged, marginalised and isolated members of society. The extent of the our reliance on these organisations has become abundantly clear during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They were the first groups to mobilise in the face of mounting food poverty and social isolation during the most challenging periods of lockdown. Thanks to their determined leadership, hundreds of vulnerable older people in Donegal have been protected.

They deliver these services and supports (and much more) with profound humility and unwavering resiliency - often with limited resources and a myriad of stakeholders to keep happy. It is vital, therefore, that these social enterprises are properly supported.

DLDC has produced the Social Enterprise Strategy 2022-2024 in order to build a meaningful support structure around social enterprises so they can continue to deliver for communities across Donegal.
