Description

All Together in Dignity (ATD) Ireland, under the Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, will launch the report of its "Does it only happen to me?" project which is a collection of stories and reflections from individuals with experiences of social and economic discrimination in their interactions with public sector services. The project is a contribution to the wider campaign to have the ground of social and economic discrimination recognised in Irish and European equality legislation.

The launch will include a presenation of a sample of the stories/ reflections, contributions of key note speakers and a cafe style Q & A session with a guest panel, followed by light refreshments. Speakers will include Ms. Judy Walsh, Head of Subject for Social Justice and the Director of the UCD Equality Studies Centre UCD; Mr. Niall Crowley, Equality and Human Rights Expert; and Mr. Jim O'Callaghan TD, Fianna Fáil. Guest Panel: Independent Senator, Lynn Ruane; Mr. Damien Walshe, Independent Living Movement Ireland; and Mr Paul Uzell, Community Activist ATD Ireland. Master of Ceremonies: Mr. Paul Ginnell, European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland.
