Budding novelists, get ready: Novel Fair 2018 is here!
The Novel Fair is an Irish Writers Centre initiative which aims to introduce up-and-coming writers to top publishers and literary agents, giving novelists the opportunity to bypass the slush pile, pitch their ideas and place their synopsis and sample chapters directly into the hands of publishers and agents.
This event marks the beginning of the Novel Fair 2018 submissions period which will remain open for six months, with the Fair itself taking place in February 2018. The launch will allow aspiring novelists to gain the inside track about how the Fair works.
Former Novel Fair winner Andrea Carter (Death at Whitewater Church and Treacherous Strand) will share insights on this unique opportunity to connect with publishers and agents while Editorial Director of New Island Books Dan Bolger will be speaking about a publishers experience of the Fair. Former judge and author Martina Devlin will chair the panel, reveal best submission practices and offer a rundown of all the success stories to date.
A must for anyone who has ever dreamed of getting a novel published!

About the organiser
The Irish Writers Centre is the national resource organisation for Irish literature. Founded in 1991, its mission is to support, promote and inform writers at all stages of their development. The Centre offers a diverse programme of writing courses and workshops led by established writers across a range of genres including memoir, poetry, playwriting, short-stories and the novel. It also runs a series of professional development programmes which mentor and nurture young and emerging writers of all ages, supporting them in the development of their craft and career as a writer. Additionally, we provide residencies for professional writers and outreach engagement through our community residencies. The IWC has a strong and loyal community of members, partners and friends, and we welcome new people from all walks of life, nationality and ages to join.
