Event description

Description

We are delighted to invite you to the launch of our research report on the implementation and practice responses to routine enquiry for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This research was completed in conjunction with Dr Sarah Morton, Director of the Community Drugs Programme, University College Dublin, and Andrew Bennett, Public Health Researcher, Trainer and Consultant.

The action research focussed on implementation of ACEs routine enquiry within a domestic violence agency, and subsequent development of practitioner and organisational responses, including in relation to infant mental health and intergenerational patterns of abuse, trauma and substance use.

We are delighted that Dr Zara Quigg, Reader in Behavioural Epidemiology at the Public Health Institute (PHI), Liverpool John Moore’s University, UK will provide a keynote address at the launch, drawing on her own expertise on ACEs routine enquiry implementation across a range of agencies and organisations within the UK. For full details of her expertise see https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/about-us/staff-profiles/faculty-of-education-health-and-community/public-health-institute/zara-quigg.

Given the current interest in trauma informed responses we look forward to sharing the lessons and learning points of engaging with ACEs routine enquiry, and also the opportunity to hear from a leading UK based expert in the field.
