Leaving Cert Biology Exam Preparation Course 2022

Three separate exam prep webinars on Unit1, Unit 2, and Unit 3 over the three Saturdays before the Leaving Cert Biology exam. Dr Declan Cathcart will run these on Saturday mornings, from 28th May to 11th June. Each session will be two and a half hours long and will be recorded so that students can review any part of the material in their own time.

This is a live online event. Participants will receive the link to the webinar and other resources after registering. The webinars will be recorded so that students can look back over it and review any part of the session in their own time. Students will receive a complete set of comprehensive revision notes on all topics.

Day 1 is on Unit 1 and the Mandatory Practical Activities. Unit One topics include: Scientific Method, Biomolecules, Ecology. MPAs 1-15 will be covered.

Day 2 is on Unit 2 - The Cell. Unit Two topics include: Cell Structure, Cell Division, Enzymes, Photosynthesis, Respiration, Genetic Crosses.

Day 3 is on Unit 3 - The Organism. Unit Three topics include: Microbiology (Bacteria, Fungi, Protista), Plant Biology (Transport and Reproduction), and Human Systems (the Neuron, the Nephron, Menstrual Cycle, Cardiac Cycle, Immunity, Lymphatic system, the Liver.)

Declan Cathcart has been teaching Biology for over 20 years at both secondary and university level. He has taught many very successful Leaving Cert Biology revision courses over the years, in person at Trinity College, and online. He is a renowned expert on the Leaving Cert Biology exam, and over the years Declan has guided thousands of students through their exams.

He is the author of the textbooks Active Science and Biology Extra! He teaches at Temple Carrig School and UCD.
