About this event
Tour of Collins barracks to see the Studio and State exhibition and Glasnevin Cemetery.
We will be travelling by bus.
Leaving from Gala Shop/Stenson at 7.45am sharp. Returning for 7pm.
Lunch is not provided. There will be time for a lunch break in the middle of the day.
This exhibition features for the first time Sir John Lavery’s paintings of the Treaty signatories from Hugh Lane Gallery next to contemporary artefacts of the time from the National Museum of Ireland’s collection. Museum objects include the fountain pen reputedly used by Michael Collins to sign the original Treaty document and propaganda handbills.
Second part of the tour is a visit to Glasnevin cemetery to Our Irish History. Tour Ticket is for those who have an interest in or want to learn more about the figures involved in key events of the Revolutionary period. Weave through the stunning grounds of Ireland’s National Cemetery while our expert Tour Guides share the fascinating stories of iconic figures from Irish history who have been laid to rest here. Finishing up with the O'Donovan Rossa oratory.
