Presentation of the bird research at UCC
About this event
Cork Nature Network is excited to announce an evening to talk about a number of bird species with Prof. John Quinn at 7:00pm on March 3rd, the UN World Wildlife Day.
This free event will take place on Zoom.
John Quinn is Professor in Zoology at University College Cork. His interests span a broad range of topics in ecology, evolution and ornithology. His research interests currently include seabird ecology and natural resource management. He will talk about past and present research on shearwaters, puffins, great tits, and a variety of other species.
Ireland hosts some of the most important seabird populations in Europe, and is under statutory obligation to ensure their protection. Nevertheless, the population ecology and general ecology of most of these populations is either largely unknown or very poorly understood. This talk will include a presentation followed by a discussion on the research that is undertaken on birds and how we can gain a better understanding about their needs and importance.
Join us to learn about the fascinating world of birds.
We look forward to seeing you!
