Event description
An experimental letterpress printmaking day! Create postcards with your favourite poems or words inspired by women, using vintage text.

About this event

Reflecting on Mary Leadbeater, and other women lost in history, social justice, the power of the pamphet in 1700's abolitionism and suffragette eras. we will create cards or small prints on my Adana Letterpress, you may also wish to combine with drypoint as seen in photos, or a monoprint. Choose your own heroine, or you will get plenty of inspiration on the day! I have a few great books and you're very welcome to bring more or items of interest with you on the day.

Learn the art of letterpress whilst celetrating women.

What do participants need to bring?

A smile :)

Wear old clothes or an apron in case you get any splashes

COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES

Angelina has completed the Fáilte Ireland Covid Safety Charter.

To ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved participants will be required to wear masks whilst indoors and provide proof of vaccination.

Class size is limited to just 6.

Cleaning and safety procedures will be explained to participants prior to commencing.

Angelina Foster is a heritage artist, based in Co. Kildare, who enjoys working through drawing, calligraphy, photography, and screen printing.  Her practice explores connections in art, nature, Irish heritage stories and the power of language. She has her own range of Irish heritage products, clothing and accessories and is available for collaboration in the corporate and private sector. Angelina is a member of Blackstack Studio in Kilkenny, DCCOI and VAI.
