About this Event

Liam Mellows "Little All Stars" Camp for Players Aged 4 to 6

The Liam Mellows "Little All Stars" Hurling and Camogie Camp, for boys and girls, will take place over 4 days (Monday, 17th August to Thursday 20th August) in Liam Mellows GAA Pitch, Ballyloughane, Renmore.

The camp will run from 10am to 12 noon daily. 4-day registration for €30 for the first child and €20 for the second child from the same family . 

You can also register for individual days at a cost of €10/ child/ day. 

Those who attend 4 days of the camp will receive a special Liam Mellows Camp t-shirt.

The camp includes coaching and fun games. It is an ideal opportunity for younger children (between 4 and 6 years) to start their hurling/camogie journey. Coaching will be provided by fully qualified Liam Mellows coaches who are experienced in coaching in schools and at camps. The camp is open to non-members and members. The camp will be conducted per the GAA's COVID guidelines. If your child is new to hurling, don't worry, hurls and helmets will be provided.

Can I register on the day ?

No. Unfortunately due to the GAA's COVID guidelines all attendees must pre-register.

Do I need to do anything in advance to comply with the GAA's COVID Guidelines ?

Yes, all parents shall be required to complete the GAA's e-learning module

Additional guidelines will be provided to parents and guardians in advance of the camp.

Does my child need to be playing hurling or camogie to attend the camp?

No, the camp is open to current players and those who wish to play for the first time. All children, no matter what their skill level, get to take part and enjoy learning to play. 

Do I need to be a member of Liam Mellows GAA Club?

No, the camp is open to non-members and members.

What should my child bring to the camp?

Hurley & Helmet (we will have some spares if you are new to the game) ● Suitable playing gear, tracksuit, shorts, runners, boots ● Rain jacket and changes of gear on wet days ● Their own labelled water bottle  

What time should I arrive? 

Registration will be open from 9:45am on Monday. We'd recommend that you arrive 15-20 minutes early on the first day to allow collection of all your child's details. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, please bring a print-off of your registration or your details on the Eventbrite mobile phone app to facilitate registration. If you do not remember to bring these details, do not worry we'll still process registration on the day. 

What if my child has a medical condition?

Details of any Medical Conditions/Allergies will be collected by our Coaches at the time of Registration. Please have these ready in advance.

What is the policy regarding photographs taken during the camp?

We would like to share the positive camp experience so Summer Camp photos may appear in local newspapers and/or Liam Mellows website/social media. We comply with the GAA Guidelines on the use of Photographic Images and maintaining Web Sites in GAA clubs.  Please email coach@liammellows.ie if you do NOT want your child included in this material. You will also be given the option to opt out at the time of Registration on the first day. 

What is the policy regarding bullying taken during the camp?

We want all Children to enjoy the Camp. Bullying, name-calling, teasing or disruptive behaviour will not be accepted and will be addressed in an appropriate manner by our Camp Coaches and in accordance with GAA Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport. Significant misbehaviour may result in the participant being suspended from the camp; no refund will be given.
