🎨 Memories & Nature – A One-Day Linocut Printing Workshop
✨ With Meg Harper of Peace of Ireland Art

Ever wanted to try your hand at printmaking? Step into the world of linocut printing—a beautiful, hands-on art form once loved by Picasso himself! In this relaxing and creative one-day workshop, you’ll explore the art of carving, inking, and printing your very own design inspired by memories and nature.

No experience needed—just curiosity, a favourite image (or let us inspire you!), and a willingness to get a little inky.

🌟 In this workshop you will:

• Experiment with mark-making and carving tools
• Transfer, trace, or draw your design onto a lino block
• Learn to carve safely and effectively
• Mix your own colours with water-based inks
• Print your design as many times as you like
• Take home your finished artwork (mounted and ready to frame!) plus your carved linocut block for future printing

☕ We’ll take a relaxed tea & coffee break while your prints dry—perfect for sharing ideas, chatting, and admiring each other’s work.

🎁 By the end of the day, you’ll have:

• A finished piece of art ready to hang or gift
• Your own unique lino block to keep creating at home
• A new skill and a memory made through creativity

🖼 What to Bring:

• Clothes you don’t mind getting inky (or an old apron)
• A favourite memory or nature photo (A6 size, photocopied/printed) — e.g. a family moment, a flower, a leaf, or a landscape
• Any sketches or doodles you’d like to work from
  (Don’t worry if you’re stuck—we’ll have plenty of inspiration to share!)

Meg is the artist behind Peace of Ireland Art. Passionate about printmaking, she creates art inspired by nature, memory, and everyday beauty. With her gentle guidance, you’ll learn each step of the process in a supportive, fun, and creative environment.

Leitrim School of Art (LSA)

Deposits, Missed Days and Missed Classes Refund Policy from December 2022 (Revised April 2023)

(a) Due to substantial increases in business costs LSA cannot offer discounts, refunds, or alternative places on future events for missed classes within class blocks, or missed days within workshops and camps

(b) A request for a refund of a deposit may be considered if the refund request is received by LSA at least 10 days before the start of the event.

(c) A request to transfer a deposit to another event may be considered if the request to transfer is received by LSA at least 10 days before the start of the originally booked event.

(d) Requests for refunds or transfer of deposits must be notified to LSA by email to michael@leitrimartschool.ie

(e) Requests for refunds will be responded to by LSA within 3 days of the request being notified to us.

(f) Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected and LSA will “make good” on its obligations to consumers for failure to provide classes or workshop and camp days (e.g., event cancellation).

(g) Booking of an event at LSA, through Eventbrite or otherwise, constitutes your acceptance of this policy.
