Join us to learn how to be a Triple-A listener and supercharge your leadership skills.

About this event

Good communication makes everything better! Teams work better, projects run more smoothly, grievances and are dealt with effectively. One cornerstone of good communication is active listening—it leads to an empathetic communication style which helps build trust and strong relationships. Active listening is a skill that is taught to teachers, counsellors and police, but the benefits of bringing active listening into business and management training is coming to the fore as ‘soft skills’ differentiate truly great leaders of teams from leaders who have technical expertise but poor people skills.

Learning the key skills to ‘triple-A’ listening will help you connect better with teams and co-workers, communicate and lead with empathy, and have more meaningful conversations. It can also make online interactions more effective, creating a better sense of connection, even when not in the same room.

In this webinar we’ll explore the key skills of active listening and examples of how you can bring it into your everyday work interactions to maximise every conversation, gain a deeper understanding of your team’s and customers’ needs, build rapport and supercharge your leadership skills.

With Deanna O’Connor, founder of The Speak Up Club.

Deanna O’Connor is a former magazine editor who has worked across both women’s titles and business media. She is a seasoned broadcaster and event MC and founded The Speak Up Club as a social enterprise to empower women as leaders in business and communities, through public speaking skills. As well as offering one-on-one coaching, webinars and corporate training in public speaking, she is also a freelance editor and content creator, working mainly with blue chip corporate clients and semi-state bodies, writing about business, entrepreneurship and start-ups.
