LIZ ROCHE COMPANY PRESENTS DANCE DOUBLE BILL
Thu 20 October 2016, 20:00 – 21:00 BST
BIAS - by Katherine O'Malley
Bias explores the split second judgements we make on a daily basis and asks do we suffer by taking the path of least resistance taught to us by our experiences? If we are composed of our biases, for better or for worse, what patterns are we repeating?
With collaborators Daragh Dukes and Mark Linnane the work has evolved in observation of some of these biases, stating, restating and reframing them in a series of new environments, and from new perspectives. Each new environment is a sounding board, a testing ground where biases and inclinations will be revealed. Bias premiered at the Dublin Dance Festival 2016.

WRONGHEADED by Liz Roche
Choreographer Liz Roche brings together the fearless spoken word poetry of Elaine Feeney, the exquisite work of film director Mary Wycherley, lighting designer Sinead Wallace and composer Ray Harman with electrifying performances by dancers Sarah Cerneaux and Justine Cooper. All are gathered together in this intense mix of emotions and physicality to highlight the desperation and frustration that many Irish women feel today when it comes to the choices available to them regarding their bodies.
This work premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival 2016 at Project Arts Centre.
"there’s an urgency, immediacy and power to 'Wrongheaded' that catches your breath.... there’s a raw, visceral almost primal force in play.... in a truly exhilarating performance." Chris O'Rourke The Arts Review
