All Saints Heritage Centre (Clonbur, Ireland) and Fly on the Wall Press are pleased to announce the first annual All Saints Literary Competition, featuring the Lough Corrib Short Story Competition and the Lough Mask Poetry Competition.
Important Competition Dates:
- Entries Deadline Saturday 21 May 2022, midnight
- Short Lists announced 8th July 2022
- All entrants shortlisted will be invited to read their work at All Saints Heritage Centre, Clonbur, County Galway on 23 July 2022, at the Clonbur Writers Weekend 22-24 July where the overall winners will be announced.

Lough Corrib Short Story Competition Guidelines:
Adults (Age 18+)
- Entry Deadline Saturday 21 May 2022, midnight
- The competition is open to any short story writer writing in English and Gaeilge.
- The entry fee is €4 for one short story or three short stories for €10.
- There is no limit to number of entries.
- Entries should be between 1500 and 3000 words, and must be the work of the entrant.
- Short stories will be judged anonymously.
- The judge’s decisions are final.
- Short stories should not have been previously published.
- No simultaneous submissions.
- To avoid conflict of interest, no one involved directly in the Clonbur Writers Weekend 2022 may submit.
Step One: Pay Your Entry Fee

Step Two: Submit your Entries
- Work should be submitted to the following email address LoughCorribShortStory@gmail.com
- Each entry (Adult) should be emailed with your Eventbrite Entry Order Number included in the body of the email. Entrants without this information will not be considered (the Order Number is on your confirmation email sent to you from Eventbrite, and the entry ticket PDF attached to the email).
- When submitting, put the following in the email subject line: Lough Corrib Short Story _ your name
- Attach your submission in the body of the email as a word document or PDF. Please make sure your name is nowhere in this attachment.
- We do not require a cover letter, but they are welcome.
Entrants for the short story competition are welcome to submit to the Lough Mask Poetry Competition here www.loughmaskpoetry2022.eventbrite.ie
Young Adults (11-17)
- Entry Deadline Saturday 21 May 2022, midnight
- The competition is open to anyone between the ages of 11 and 17, writing in English or Gaeilge.
- There is no entry fee for young adults entering the competition.
- Each entrant is allowed to send up to two short stories for consideration.
- Entries should be between 1500 and 3000 words and must be the work of the entrant.
- Short stories will be judged anonymously.
- The judge’s decisions are final.
- Short Stories should not have been previously published.
- No simultaneous submissions.
How to Submit a Young Adult Entry
- Work should be submitted to the following email address LoughCorribShortStory@gmail.com
- When submitting, put the following in the email subject line: Lough Corrib Short Story Young Adult _ your name, date of birth as DDMMYY
- Attach your submission in the body of the email as a word document or PDF. Please make sure your name is nowhere in this attachment.
- We do not require a cover letter, but they are welcome.

Lough Corrib Short Story Prize:

1st Place: €100 and 7-Day Writer’s Retreat at self-catering accommodations in Clonbur, walking distance from Lough Mask, Lough Coolin, and at the foot of beautiful Mount Gable.
