Love Actually Talks is inspired by TED™ talks. It is organised as an annual event by Love Actually Charity to encourage, inspire and motivate our members and audience with interesting and various topics.

Love Actually Talks 2018 Guest Speakers:

• Fangzhe Qiu 
(Irish Language and Literature, Humanities)

Fangzhe Qiu is a post-doctoral researcher in the project 'Chronologicon Hibernicum' in the Department of Early Irish, Maynooth University. His project is funded by the European Research Council. He is the author 《亲爱的老爱尔兰》/ Dear Old Ireland published by Shanghai Joint Publishing Company and《蛾子纷落的时刻:诺拉·尼高纳尔诗选 》/ Am lonnaithe na leamhan: Rogha Dánta Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill published by Northern Literature and Art Press.

• Jane McKenna 
(LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, Charity)

Jane McKenna is the founder of LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s hospice. LauraLynn provides palliative care and support for all children with life-limiting conditions. Their holistic approach to care ensures that they are supporting the whole family, allowing parents to have time to be a ‘Mum and Dad’ rather than full-time carers.

• Darragh Doyle 
(FoodCloud, Environment Science |Technology |Entrepreneurship |Charity)

Darragh Doyle is the Head of Community for FoodCloud. FoodCloud has become Ireland’s only nationwide food-sharing charity, facilitating the donation of more than a ton of surplus food every day in a country. FoodCloud, has developed software solutions which help businesses redistribute surplus food to charities in a more efficient way to address food waste problems. This non-profit organization has beaten hundreds of companies from around the world to win a place on the prestigious Blackbox Connect accelerator programme in Silicon Valley, California.

Event Summary:

• One special guest + Three guest speakers
• The event will be limited to 2 hours with Warming-up Session, Opening Speech, Talk 1, Talk 2, Talk 3, and Panel Discussion and Q&A.
• Each Talk will last 15 minutes.
• The special guest and the three guest speakers will form a Panel, exchange ideas on a sharing topic and interact with the audience for Q&A session.

Love Actually Charity

Love Actually is a small group of Chinese professionals living in Ireland that are passionate about creating positive changes in our communities for people who have fallen on tough times. We organize fund raising events to help those individuals, mostly children who are in extreme poverty or with life threatening health conditions. Through our work, we hope to strengthen our local community and encourage activities for individuals and families.
