Comes back this spring to present you a blooming bouquet of Italian chamber music at the National Botanic Gardens. Come in and indulge your senses with a fascinating theatre of lute music and human voice, featuring 17th Century Italian and Polish cantatas by:

Mikołaj ZIELEŃSKI, Luigi ROSSI,
Antonio CESTI, Jakob KREMBERG,
Alessandro PICCININI, Bellerofonte CASTALDI,
Giovanni Girolamo KAPSPERGER, Giovanni PITTONI

The Italian chamber cantata can be described as a miniature version of the seventeenth century theatre not only due to its subject matter, or the illusion of a visual performance. What strikes the listener is the fascinating spectacle of the human voice. It’s virtuosity and a full palette of tones appear when the singer performs not for a large audience, but for the connoisseurs of his or her art. It used to be said that when tired, the singer could only sing loudly. Allowing the singer some rest is worth the wait....

Top class artists and early music specialists will ensure the highest quality of performance is guaranteed.
