Event description

Description

Following on from the success of the inaugural MaharaIRL user group meeting in April, we plan to run a lunchtime webinar which will be of interest to anyone exploring eportfolio practice on Tuesday September 19th. Through these ongoing meetings, we hope to build a community to share information, and support learning and collaboration on eportfolios across Ireland.

Work placement is common in many programmes and across many disciplines. Placements are frequently an integral assessed part of programmes of study and are seen to improve student employability (Duffy et al, 2008). This webinar will take some time to explore using eportfolios to support and assess students on work placement. If you would like to contribute your experience in this area, please drop me a line (lisa.donaldson@dcu.ie)

Also joining us on the webinar will be Anne Stevens, a Learning Technology Leader from New Zealand experienced in using Mahara and Moodle for demonstrating competencies in Nursing, as well as Kristina Hoeppner who has offered to act as Agony Aunt for any Mahara specific queries. Please send any questions you may have to me in advance and Kristina will record a response for you!

Around that, it will be the usual mix of sharing your questions, successes, and struggles with eportfolios.

Please register your interest now and the webinar link will follow in advance of the event.

Looking forward to seeing all of you online after the summer.

Cheers,

Lisa
