An Honours graduate in Music Performance at Maynooth University, Maria has also been mentored by Sébastien Petiet, Istvan Barnacz, Theresa Costello and Karl Sweeney. She was awarded a gold medal for her performance in the senior violin category at the Fintan O'Carrol Feis in Waterford.

She has recently been invited to attend a string mentoring session with the RTE Concert Orchestra under the direction of Mia Cooper.
