Making In 2019
Event Information
Description
Making In brings global designers, artists, and makers together in a stimulating environment, by focusing on making and the thinking that informs the choices made during the creative process. In bringing this conversation to Ireland, Joseph Walsh hopes to share international perspectives and to challenge the culture of making in Ireland. For the audience of design enthusiasts, professionals, academics and students, it is a unique opportunity to hear internationally renowned creative voices discuss their work and ideas.
As conversations about the role of making in art, craft, and design have flourished in recent years, there has been an understandable emphasis on sites of production. The lure of the studio, the mysteries of the factory, are enhanced by a sense that these spaces are inacessible to all but insiders.
For this third edition of the symposium, we focus on the theme "Making In: Public".
