BLOCK T Skillsets Courses are delighted to be presenting a new 2 day radio course from independent Radio Producer and Lecturer Julien Clancy.
This 2-Day course is aimed at all audiophiles & Podcast fans, including complete novices who have the spark of an idea for a story that they want to tell through sound. During these practical classroom sessions, we'll introduce you to the basic ideas and skills you need to create your own sound-rich short story from scratch, as well as useful advice on how to get your stories heard.
Participants will learn the following:
The Spark: How to develop an idea, source your subjects & transform it into a story.
Capturing your Sounds & Story: Recording techniques & interviewing skill from digital recorders to Smart Phones.
Preparing your sound & stories: Critical listening, importing audio, single track editing.
Producing your sound story: Story structure, scripting, narration & multi-track editing.
Share your story: Presenting your story, Pitching to radio stations, podcasting, funding your next Sound Story.

TUTOR Julien Clancy is a lecturer and independent Radio Producer who has been making radio docs, features & series for the last 8 years. Fresh from his recent show at Dublin Fringe, Julien's work has appeared on RTE Radio 1, the Megalopolis Audio Arts Festival in the US and his last full documentary for RTE Radio 1 - The Seventh Summit - was a finalist in the New York International Radio Awards. Julien is also the creator & curator of Sounds Alive, a series of listening events & live performances showcasing the best of international radio, and he is also the Dublin Producer for the Peabody Award Winning Storytelling organization, The Moth.
