Managing your information with Mendeley for Researchers
Event Information
Description
Are you a researcher, student or academic staff? Do you write papers, books and articles? Mendeley will certainly help you to save your precious time and optimise your academic writing.
The Mendeley Training session will help you to get familiar with one of the most popular free reference management system tools. In the session, you will learn what Mendeley is, how to get started and what are the key features of the popular reference management tool. In particular, you will learn how to create, import and manage your references, insert citations into your document and easily generate a bibliography in any major style.
The Monday session is very special. This specific session is a part of research at Insight, NUIG on the use of Virtual Reality as a valid tool for remote training.
Therefore the in-person session at 11:00 AM will be followed by 5:00 PM remote session in Virtual Reality by using the AltspaceVR tool.
If you are attending the 11:00 AM session you are more than welcome to join the 5:00 PM session in VR as well (you can attend either or both). We will be sending a survey after the VR session to the participants to gain feedback on the applicability of VR to training.
To join the VR session you need an AltspaceVR account:
The best experience with Altspace is of course if you have a VR headset (like Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive), however, you can also simply connect from your PC or Android mobile device.
