What's it about?
“Manual Handling Training Course” is designed to give persons the skillset and knowledge to perform manual handling tasks in a safe manner which will help prevent damage or injury.
“Manual Handling” is designed for persons who are dealing with any transporting or supporting of a load which includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving, which by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions involves risk, particularly of back injury. This dynamic training provides practical guidance on the Manual Handling of Loads Regulation, which forms part of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007
- Avoidance of Manual Handling
- Reduction of Manual Handling
- Risk Assessment of Manual Handling Tasks
This course is tailored to the requirements of “various persons” and includes the following;
- Structure of the Spine
- Injury to the Spine
- Fitness & Diet
- Principles of Safe Moving & Handling
- Practical Exercise. Including skill tests
Particular attention will be given to the work areas associated with manual handling in all industries;
The “Manual Handling” course is available each month and by appointment.
Duration 3 1/2 hours (approx.) Certificate available to participants on successful completion
