About this Event
Manual Handling training has 2 parts: Theory & Practical. There will be an online Theory course (60 min), followed by a Virtual Live Videoconference Practical session (45 minutes) through Microsoft Teams. The time slot picked is for the Practical session.
We will allocate an available time slot between 12.30 PM - 5.00 PM on the date you have chosen.
You will receive a license for the online Theory course (60 min) and it has to be successfully completed before the Practical session.

The benefits of completing theory training online, followed by one-to-one practical assessment over the Internet:

- No liability risks, as learners do not have to travel.

Requirements (practical session):
The video conference will run through Microsoft Teams. You will need a PC with audio/video, Internet, and room for the practical side. Make sure you are running a browser (google chrome, Firefox, etc) and the Teams application is installed.
You will receive an invitation from the designated tutor.
Who Should Attend:
The course is specially designed for employees/volunteers who are involved in manual handling within the workplace.
This Manual Handling training course is designed to train participants in the theory and practice of safe manual handling. The course meets the requirements of “The General Application Regulation Regulations 2007, Part 4 Chapter 2, Manual Handling of Loads”, this law states that where manual handling of loads cannot be eliminated or avoided the employer must then provide organisational means of managing hazardous manual handling in the workplace, this can include manual handling training.

On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Understand what manual handling is
- Understand Manual handling legislation
- Identify what is considered as a hazardous load
- Understand the limitations of the spine and muscular system
- Conduct a manual handling risk assessment
- Lift and handle loads safely.
- Practice in the safe manual handling of loads to include
- Lifting to and from the ground
- Lifting to and from a height
- Lifting to and from a Bench
- Team Lifting
- Pushing and pulling
- Lifting bags/sacks or other loads appropriate to the workplace
Certification: Guardian Safety Manual Handling Training Certificate is awarded to all participants upon successful completion of this training course.
