Description
The Maynooth University Students for Charity - Galway Cycle will take place on April 5th-7th 2019.
This is the 32nd year of the event, and we are proud to announce that all funds raised will go directly to Vision Sports Ireland.
We will have over 250 cyclists, 100 collectors, and support crew on the weekend for the cross-country return tripfrom Maynooth University, Co Kildare to Eyre Square, Galway.
About Vision Sports Ireland…..
Vision Sports Ireland is unique in that it is the only organisation in Ireland solely dedicated to promoting sport and recreation for vision impaired people. Indeed, it is the officially registered National Governing Body for sport for vision impaired people in Ireland.
Vision Sports is a not for profit organisation and registered charity, founded in 1988. Charity registration number: CHY10793; Company Registration Number: 141882.
Vision: All blind and visually impaired people in Ireland will enjoy the health benefits derived from regular participation in sport and recreational activities of their choice.
Vision Sports supports almost every sport imaginable. The most popular includes athletics, Blind Football, Blind Golf, chess, 5-a-side futsal, rowing, swimming, tandem cycling, tenpin bowling, blind/vi tennis, walking and water skiing, Vision Sports is an ace collaborator and works hand in glove with many sports governing bodies and agencies.
Monies raised from Galway Cycle 2019 will fund 9 multi-sport Youth Inclusion Games. The Games will introduce 1,500 blind/vision impaired young adults and children to sport over three years (a participation level increase of almost 200%).

DATES FOR JERSEYS:
If you register for the Galway Cycle on or before midnight Feb 7th your cycling jersey will have your name printed on it. All those registering after this date won't have their name on their jersey, and are not guaranteed a jersey.
MANDATORY TRAINING CYCLES will take place on the following weekends:
Feb 9th/10th, and Feb 16th/17th - both 60km, one of these four must be attended.
March 2nd/3rd (80km), and March 9th/10th (90km) - one of these four must be attended.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes. If you have your confirmation details on your phone/printed out it will make registration on the morning of the cycle run a lot smoother.
