Event description

Description

Mayo Dark Sky Festival is a three-day exploration of both the beautiful county of Mayo and the skies above it.

This is the third year of the festival which provides ample opportunities to learn about astronomy for people of all ages. The festival HQ is in Newport but is also jointly hosted in the nearby towns of Mulranny and Ballycroy.

During the day time there are plenty of events including talks and workshops on astronomy, environmental matters, astrophysics, astronomical heritage and art, science shows, photography, rocket workshops, planetarium shows and lots more.

Evening events will explore local heritage to complement the night-time theme, including stargazing walks and observations, storytelling, magic and music.

Our ticketing is very simple - just pick a ONE day or WEEKEND Ticket to gain access to all events (excluding the Rocket Workshop, Mars Lander Challenge Workshop and DSLR Photography Class) and KIDS GO FREE (Under 16s)!!

A Gala dinner ticket can also be booked online here.

Entry to individual talks for non ticket-holders will be €7.50 per talk, and may be limited depending upon availability, payable on the door (some FREE events - check festival website for details).
