The focus is on the central technique of how to write an effective press release. By the end of the session, you will have drafted a press release, and even sketched out your media campaign. If you are thinking of taking our communications workshop ('How to get your message across'), this media skills session is a useful starting point for identifying and clarifying your message.
The workshop is open to all, but particularly suited to people working in science, technology and health, where complex topics are often involved.
To get the most out of the day, it helps if you have something to publicise, whether an event, or research finding, etc. The workshop includes practical exercises, and the result is an enjoyable and productive learning experience.
