Event description
Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) is hosting its second Mental Health Information Day for Teachers and School Staff on Friday, 17 April 2020.

About this Event

Children and young people spend up to one third of their childhood in school: their experience there can have a major impact on their mental health. This training day is designed to empower teachers and school staff working with children and young people to develop greater understanding of mental health and embed a mentally healthy school environment.

Speakers include Adam Harris, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AsIAm; Paul Gilligan, CEO of St Patrick's Mental Health Services (SPMHS); and Dr Laura Bond of the Willow Grove Adolescent Unit in SPMHS.

While the full programme will be announced in the coming weeks, training will cover a broad, topical range of issues relating to mental health and wellbeing in the classroom.

Teachers and school staff attending the training will receive a Certificate of Attendance. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided on the day.WIMS is the flagship mental health awareness-raising and education campaign from SPMHS.

For more information, please visit the WIMS website, or contact Amanda McArdle, WIMS Project Manager, on 01 249 3632 and at info@walkinmyshoes.ie.
