About this event

Have you ever thought about getting a mentor or becoming a mentor to other artists? Mentoring can be a very important part of an artists professional development. It can be very broad, relating to long-term goals or very specific, relating directly to special projects, growing your professional network, working internationally or expanding your business or marketing skills. To introduce Creative Frame members to the practicalities of mentoring we will host a mentoring workshop for both mentors and mentees. The workshop will offer an introduction to the mentoring mindset and explore the skills and approaches needed for mentoring to be successful for both parties.

During the workshop we will also hear from a number of artists who have each been part of successful mentoring partnership as mentors or mentees. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the practicalities of finding and working with a mentor and hear about their personal experience of mentoring partnerships and how mentoring as supported their practice.

The workshop will be facilitated by Monika Sapielak from the Centre for Creative Practices.

It is highly advised that anyone intending to make an application for a Leitrim County Council Arts Office’s Mentoring Bursary in 2021 attends this workshop. To be eligible for the forthcoming bursary at least one of the two parties, mentor or mentee, must have their practice based in the county.
